Ryan Giggs, Big Brother star Ziggy, TV presenter Jeff Brazier and actor Chucky Venice have joined forces to donate clothes, CDs, books and homewares to a new campaign which aims to generate hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of stock for charity.

The boys are supporting the "Don't Need It? Donate It" campaign by Cancer Research UK and Burton which is taking place this September to encourage men to make themselves over and help beat cancer at the same time.

Until mid-October, Cancer Research UK and Burton will be asking men to donate unwanted clothes, accessories and homewares to Cancer Research UK. Not only will the men who donate be helping fund the charity's life-saving work, Burton will also reward their efforts with a discount on men's fashion in their stores.

It is hoped that the campaign, which is also being supported by the male Hollyoaks cast and actor and cancer survivor Andy Newton Lee, will generate £250,000 worth of good quality men's stock for the charity's shops.

Donations are crucial to the 600 Cancer Research UK shops to help fund further research into beating cancer. Last year, just over £66m of the charity's income came from donations to the branches.

Each bag of good quality items can be worth around £30 to support the charity's work.

Simon Ledsham, retail director at Cancer Research UK, said: "We're really encouraging men to make the most of this opportunity to purge their wardrobes. All good-quality donations of clothes, books, CDs and household items are welcome. Generating stock is vital for the charity's shops so we’re really hoping that we'll get some great men's fashion and accessories from this campaign."

Wes Taylor at Burton said: "We're sure this campaign will get men sorting through their unwanted items and raising lots of money for Cancer Research UK. If all the partners out there can nag their men to get involved it's a great excuse to see your man finally wearing the latest trends."
