Your own facelift programme

Isolagen :: Your own facelift programme

It's a technique referred to as the "grow your own facelift" programme, because it involves an injection of your own youth-giving skin cells into your wrinkles. A tiny sample of skin is taken from behind your ears - usually the least damaged bit of your skin.

Collagen-promoting cells called fibroblasts are harvested from the sample and grown in a laboratory. Once they have multiplied sufficiently - about two months later - they are injected into the areas of concern. Over time, your skin is prompted to increase collagen production.

It has been used mainly as a facial treatment for lines, sun damage, scars and age spots, but it's just been launched as a hand treatment - the area most likely to give your age away.
