HIV :: New HIV/AIDS vaccine clinical trials
National AIDS Research Institute (NARI), Pune, is conducting a first phase of clinical trial of a newly developed HIV/AIDS vaccine. This ongoing trial is being done under the joint auspices of the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI).
The Phase-I trial of this newly developed HIV/AIDS vaccine will be complete in January_2007, and more informations on HIV/AIDS vaccine would be made available. Such trials (using the vaccine developed by US-based company Targeted Genetics) are also ongoing in Belgium and Germany. This particular vaccine is being tested for the first time in India at the NARI - National AIDS Research Institute.
